Zarah Hussain

Zarah Hussain Exhibition

Symmetry in sculpture

(Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery- 24th May 2014- 25th January 2015)

Hussain's exhibition was mainly sculptural. Her thoughts behind the work was to transfer Islamic art into 3D objects. However, the exhibition was a major aspect towards her work as the white cube complimented certain areas of her work.In the gallery the pieces reflected from the light and cast shadows of the form. Hussain believes that seeing her series of work in the exhibition space created a new outlook on how her work could be viewed. 'Bringing traditional geometry into a new way of looking and seeing the patterns in a new light'. Again it can be recognized that the way in which the artists works are presented in the exhibition can have a massive impact on how it is viewed.
